Helen Baldwin Having originally trained as a teacher, Helen then embarked upon a career in Banking. She was somewhat of a pioneer achieving a number of firsts for women in banking as she progressed up the ranks. After achieving a senior position as Area Sales Manager in the Warrington, Wigan and St Helens area she changed direction working as Office Manager in a children’s day nursery. She then took up her present job role firstly with businessdynamics and now Business Horizons. Helen feels she has really found her niche in life as Business Horizons combines her initial desire to work within the education environment and allows her to draw upon and share the experiences she acquired in the business world. Hilary Bernstein Hilary is a fantastic role model for young people. She left school at 16, opting for a secretarial career. After 5 years she had attained the position of team leader in the Customs and Excise. However, she decided on a change in career, running one of the most successful Tumble Tots franchises in the UK. Having sold the business, she worked as a consultant for Sure Start. In 2002, she was one of the founding Directors of Empathy, which is now one of the most successful training consultancies in the UK. 	Steve Carnaby Steve joined a major Bank on leaving school and after 7 years moved into the Home Service Insurance market where he spent 17 years promoting Insurance policies locally. Later turning to briefly become an Independent Financial Adviser, Steve soon specifically became involved in Mortgages and in 2003 formed Standish Mortgage Services with his business partner. This has grown year upon year and has recently resulted in an Office move giving the business a High Street presence in Standish just outside Wigan. Jane Girvan Jane's career was in Banking before becoming a freelance training consultant in 1999. Training consultancy has brought her in to contact with a diverse range of industries from construction to local government. She designs and delivers a wide range of soft skills training events including management skills, customer service and sales and HR law.
